My dear sons,
Since I last wrote a letter to you, we announced some big changes for our family…
Baby number THREE! Expected November 2013 🙂
Big brother-  You’re starting to notice mommy’s belly getting bigger. You make sure to point it out to me often. You’re convinced this baby is a boy. I asked, “what if it’s a girl and you have a sister?” You just looked at me like that was the most ridiculous notion ever and said, “No mama. That’s my baby brother, it’s not a girl.”
The other day, little brother was upset about something and he was crying. I was tending to him and you came up, patted his head and said, “are you scared? It’s ok. Awww, it’s ok. You know why? You know who is always with you? God.” Wow I was speechless. It’s so funny to hear you say things that I tell you and I don’t think you’re listening or even paying attention. I was in the kitchen cooking yesterday morning and you were in the living room playing with blocks. I had some worship music on and you starting singing along, “Bless the Lord oh my sould oooOOOoooh my sould. Worship his hoooooly name…” I was so in awe of your little spirit.
I just love to watch your little mind work and play and see your imagination. You’re a pretty cool dude.
Little brother – You are just growing up too fast for mommy! Day by day, minute by minute I’m shocked at what you are able to do and say. You’re really starting to say a lot of two and three (and more!) word sentences.
You love going up to CrossFit (which you pronounce foss-fit) and showing us your muscles.
I so look forward to getting you up in the mornings and walking in to hear you say “Good morning mommy” (oooo orning ommy!) and we’re off for the day with you telling me something immediately about spiderman or poo poo or your bee-bee (pacifier). I love that I get to be your mom. Your sweet smiles and kisses light up my life.
My favorite way to end the day is rocking you and singing our favorite song, “You are my sunshine.”
Love, mommy. <3
