Yukon Oklahoma Birth Photographer | Homebirth of Baby A
September 29, 2014
On a Monday evening, I got a Facebook message from this mama saying she thought her water broke. I started getting my gear ready, when she told me things were starting to intensify. The midwife and assistant were on their way. I got my stuff ready to go and headed over. Thankfully, she only lives about 10 minutes away…..
When I got there, they told me she was very close to delivering, but you never would have guessed by her demeanor. This woman was made to give birth! She was smiling and joking all the way up to the birth of her baby. The baby’s sex was surprise. Everyone in the room was eager to know if this baby was a girl or another boy!
It’s a GIRL!
I just love how right after birth, baby girl just snuggled up on mom and fell asleep. It was so precious, her little chunky arm hanging over mom’s belly!
And then she started nursing right away, like a champ!
Baby girl got to snuggle skin to skin with daddy while mom was getting cleaned up. I love how she’s holding onto his finger! Notice all the vernix still on her skin. Love this!
Daddy got to weigh his daughter. She was a little chunker, 9lbs 2.5ouz!
Ah, special moments right after her birth. I love this so much.
Congratulations Keri and Phil. Thank you for allowing me to photograph your daughter’s birth!
