Whether you’re hiring a birth photographer or you’ve decided to just let a family member take photos…. we can agree that photos are important!! Just like your wedding day, your baby’s birth day will go by so quickly and there will be moments, details and emotions that you want photographed so you can remember this precious day.
Here are the top 5 photos you must have from your baby’s birth ….
Must have #1: Labor
This is the moment where you’re working hard to meet your baby. If you are having a natural birth, or if you have an epidural….. your body and your baby are working hard! These are the last moments you’ll have before your baby is out in this world.
Must have #2: The details
These little things are important, and so easily missed! I love photographing small things like, the clock (to show the passing of time) or photos in a mom’s home or the baby’s name written on the board at the hospital.

Must have #3: Mom & dad meeting baby for the first time
This is my absolute favorite moment! You’ve been waiting for this since you found out you were pregnant. Through the morning sickness, getting a bigger belly, buying new maternity clothes, the waddling around, setting up the nursery …. your baby is finally here!

Must have #4: Measuring & weighing baby + footprints
The first thing people always ask… “How much did he weigh?” You’ll absolutely want to treasure these photos… because that baby will just keep growing and you’ll quickly forget how tiny he once was!
I love this photo! This was taken right as the midwife told everyone this baby weighed 10lbs 8oz!

Must have #5: Older siblings and other family members meeting baby
My second favorite thing to capture (1st being mom and dad’s face when baby is born), is big brother or big sister meeting the baby!
There you have it! My top 5 must have photos from your baby’s birth!
