When do most moms go into labor?
I’d be willing to bet it’s sometime between 9pm and 11pm. She’s winding down for the day, relaxed, lays down for bed… and those contractions start to become time-able and consistent.
So, quite often I get a text in those hours saying “heads up, this might be it.”
I will fall asleep, clutching my phone and waiting for the call.
Y’all I have the craziest dreams while I’m sleeping before going to a birth!
This time in particular, Breanne was giving birth at the Science Museum Oklahoma (affectionately known as the Omniplex if you’re an ’80s or ’90s kid from OKC). I walked into the Omniplex where I knew she was in labor, but I couldn’t get to her. I finally found her room, and realized I forgot my camera. The baby was crowning as I walked in, so I grabbed her cell phone and started taking photos 😂 Man, oh man, my subconscious is seriously confused and stressed out! LOL!
Thankfully, I didn’t miss Breanne’s birth. 😉
Breanne contacted me in her first trimester. Right away, we realized we lived only a mile from each other and had so much in common.
Breanne and Joe are the kind of couple who everyone loves to talk to and love to be around. You know those people? The ones who make each and every person around them feel cared for, appreciated and genuinely loved when you’ve only known them for a few minutes. Needless to say, I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their birth.
That morning, many family members waited at the hospital all night for the arrival of baby boy #3. The anticipation and joy was contagious!
Breanne handled labor like a boss. She was laughing and joking with us between contractions, up until the moment of birth!
Sweet baby boy was born and handed right up to mom’s chest while dad smiled proudly. Big brothers were in the room shortly after, eager to see and hold their new baby!
I love this moment, right before labor kicked into serious gear. Laughing and praying with family, eager to meet this little boy.
You can do hard things, sister! You’re amazing!
Breanne & Joe — thank you so much for inviting me into your birth space! I hope each and every photo truly reminds you of the hard work you’ve put in and the gracious rewards you have in those 3 sweet boys. I cherish your sweet family and have loved getting to know y’all. And Breanne — thank you for not actually giving birth at the Omniplex 😂
