Being a parent can be incredibly lonely sometimes – and confusing! I mean, is your kid the only one who insists on being naked all summer? Or is your daughter the only kid in the world who is surviving on mac & cheese and Cool Ranch Doritos?

The answer is probably heck no! The truth is, kids are weird, parenting is weird, and we all need to talk about it from time to time. Since many of us are trapped at home with tiny toddler tyrants, the next best thing is listening to podcasts by parents, about parents. That’s why I’ve pulled together a list of some of my favorite parenting podcasts for you!

 

Mom and Dad Are Fighting

This Slate podcast is a panel of moms and dads (technically one mom and two dads) that answers questions from listeners and brings in guest experts. They aren’t afraid to cover the tough topics – and the silly ones! Keep in mind, this podcast can get a little explicit so only listen with headphones or when little ears aren’t around. The Longest Shortest Time

This podcast has been going on for years, and has a bit of an NPR feel to it – with a whole lot more parenting added in. The host, Hillary Frank, features offbeat stories of parenting of all kinds. Like MADAF, it can get a little explicit so listen carefully. And be prepared: some stories will make you laugh so hard you cry, and some will just make you cry! Find out more here.

 

Little Sprigs

Learn more about mindful parenting from expert host Christina Perez. Now, some of the advice might feel a little New Age-y, but learning how other people deal with those toddler tantrums can be inspiring! Plus, who doesn’t want advice on how to raise confident kiddos? Find out more here.

But I know so many people out there are true crime junkies, and this podcast is hosted by two mamas who love murder – well, talking about it, anyway! They keep it clean and relatively mild considering the subject matter. So if you’re looking for a true crime podcast that you won’t mind your kiddo overhearing, this is the one for you. Being an OK Mom

This is one of my favorite parenting podcasts. 😉 Sure, I might be biased since this is my podcast, but it’s a great option for moms in the OKC area! Being a mom is awesome but isolating. I started this podcast with my friend Megan so we could encourage other moms and help you feel connected! But we also don’t have a lot of free time, which is why we record short and sweet episodes covering local OKC events as well as relevant info from pregnancy, birth, and motherhood experts in the metro.
