Welcoming baby Aspyn whose name has deep family roots – Oklahoma City Newborn Photography
June 27, 2019
The story of how baby Aspyn got her name is so dreamy.
Aspyn’s mama tells the story this way: “Aspens have been my favorite tree since I was a little kid visiting Colorado with my family. Chas and I started dating and he quickly learned that he also loved the mountains. We ended up getting married in Vail. When Chas was traveling to Germany for work I found out that we were having a little girl, so he decided her name should be Aspyn.”
“We told everyone [about the pregnancy] when they came in town for my Master’s graduation. It was also Mother’s Day weekend, so we gifted them with ‘graduation’ portraits we had taken on campus. The picture we gave everyone was us holding our first sonogram!”
That had to be an exciting day for sure. Funny though, once baby comes along, Alisha realized, “To your parents, you no longer exist! Only baby.”
LOL. Okay it’s kinda true, but who can blame them?
With Aspyn’s bright red hair, she already resembles her daddy. But Alisha says, “I have hopes that she will look like me as she gets older!”
What does Alisha say is the best thing about being a parent so far?
“Unconditional and irrational love.”
