OKC Coming Home Session: A Birth Photography Alternative
Perhaps you’ve considered hiring a birth photographer for your hospital birth, but are worried about their 1 visitor policy?
Trust me, we want to be able to photograph your birth too. There is nothing like it! However, in these uncertain times, we’re forced to make some changes – and I think you’ll like this one…
Due to major changes going on in the world around us, we’ve started offering an incredible alternative to birth photography that a lot of families are LOVING. Even if I or Stephanie were allowed into the hospital, chances are your older child, your mom or other family wouldn’t be allowed in.
What are coming home sessions?
These are a birth photography alternative that still captures the precious moments surrounding the birth of your baby and up until the first 48 hours or so of them being home.
How does a coming home session work?
For a Coming Home Session, Tavia or Stephanie will meet you at the hospital when you’ve been discharged. Then, we will follow you home to photograph your older kiddo(s), grandparents, etc. meeting the new baby, as well as other moments (see below).

What all does a coming home session capture?
Because we will be your “shadow” or “fly on the wall”, we will be able to photograph your baby in some of their most precious beginning moments. A few things we’ve captured in other sessions are the baby:
Leaving the hospital
Having their first car ride home
Daddy’s first diaper change
Being introduced to their new room
First bath
Nursing
Meeting their siblings for the first time
Meeting their grandparents
And more!
Is a coming home session right for me?
If you’ve considered having a photographer present during labor and the delivery of your baby on the way, then you’ll really enjoy this alternative. It will give you the peace of mind in knowing that you and your baby’s most exciting and precious moments will still be captured and provide you with proof for years to come.
The photos taken also make great baby announcements, baby shower thank you cards, and nursery (or home) decor. Not to mention, it’s such a special and unique alternative to birth photography!
